Vietnam War Protest
Here's a blast from the past. Came upon this photo I took of the Vietnam War protest I attended with my mom and sister back in 1968 or '69, I think. I must have been around nine or ten years old. It was on the Washington mall. We rode down on the bus with other protesters from Westchester County in New York, stayed for the protest and rode back that evening. It wasn't very eventful although I remember there being some tear gas at one point. It was undoubtedly mom's idea to come.

This was a fantistic trip. Our little village of Croton-on-the-Hudson filled to two buses with protestors. We converged on Washington; it seemed there were only buses on the Jersey Turnpike. The Howard Johnson rest stops were full of demostators. Mom brought a large hamper full of sandwiches because there wasn't enough food at Woodstock. I think it was more like 1970 something and we were demonstrating against the bombing in Cambodia. But I'm not sure. We saw two men kissing on the stone wall in this photo. Oh my.
